Ethical Governance Practices at Golde Contractors

As employers, we have an obligation to do the right thing. Below, we outline our commitment to values such as diversity and inclusion, the importance of supply chain ethics, and our dedication to sustainability in governance, all of which shape our culture and conduct.

Our Vision

At Golde Contractors, our vision is to be Australia’s most trusted and forward-thinking structural construction partner, setting the benchmark for safety, precision, and performance in steel infrastructure and civil works. We aim to build the nation’s critical infrastructure with integrity, innovation, and veteran-level discipline, while promoting diversity and inclusion and upholding supply chain ethics — creating enduring value for our clients, our people, and the communities we serve. Driven by excellence and guided by our commitment to quality craftsmanship and sustainability in governance, we see a future where every structure bearing the Goldename reflects strength, reliability, and pride in Australian construction.

Sustainability

Golde Contractors procures all its materials and products exclusively from Australian companies, emphasizing diversity and inclusion within our supply chain. The supply chain operates at four tier levels: Tier 4 - Raw material extraction, Tier 3 - Raw material processing, Tier 2 - Material production, and Tier 1 - Finished product. Currently, Golde Contractors sources solely from Tier 1 suppliers, which limits our visibility into the source material. Understanding the importance of supply chain ethics, Golde Contractors relies on our Tier 1 suppliers to validate their Tier 2 suppliers. This approach allows Golde Contractors to assess whether the Tier 1 suppliers align with our code of conduct regarding social and environmental impacts, ultimately supporting our commitment to sustainability in governance.

Company Operations

Golde Contractors are actively learning and studying the impact of running a business, particularly focusing on the use of power. In line with our commitment to sustainability in governance, Golde Contractors will strive to incorporate renewable energy at its operational premises throughout Australia and internationally. Additionally, we recognize the importance of diversity and inclusion, as well as supply chain ethics, in our pursuit of responsible business practices.

Longevity

Doing our part for the environment and ensuring supply chain ethics is integral to our operations. We manage our supply chain as best we can while understanding cradle to cradle concepts in our projects. However, this commitment alone is simply not enough. At Golde Contractors, we strive to build infrastructure that we can be proud of and that will stand the test of time, consistently aiming for a first pass yield. A first pass means we have taken the time to understand the project at hand, plan with detail, design our work breakdown structures, and apply craftsmanship.

This approach not only provides physical durability but also fosters emotional durability for our staff, management, clients, and end users. We embrace diversity and inclusion in our workforce, recognizing that it strengthens our capabilities. While we are human and flaws can occur due to various reasons, Golde Contractors is committed to navigating any misinterpretations or other factors to meet the required criteria, all while upholding sustainability in governance.

Social and labour standards

At Golde Contractors, we are committed to delivering the craftsmanship our clients expect by diligently identifying salient risks and continuously updating our policies and processes to meet the diverse needs of our workforce. We prioritize diversity and inclusion, recognizing that our staff are our most important asset—their lives matter to us as they form the backbone of our business. Craftsmanship is achieved through safe working conditions, and we ensure that new hires, clients, and our supply chain share the same ethical values, particularly regarding supply chain ethics and sustainability in governance.

All staff and suppliers must adhere to the Golde Contractors code of conduct. If requested, we will provide a list of suppliers to any paying client at any time for full transparency.

Modern Slavery

As Golde Contractors continues to grow, we recognize the importance of supply chain ethics, particularly in understanding the risks of forced labor, fraud, and coercion. We are committed to combating modern slavery wherever possible. By assessing slavery risk through the Global Slavery Index, we can effectively rank our supply chain of materials and consumables that Golde Contractors manages.

Additionally, Golde Contractors will periodically evaluate materials and equipment from our client base to better understand their supply chains, ensuring we uphold diversity and inclusion in our practices. We strive to contribute positively to sustainability in governance and make the world a better place. More info - https://www.globalslaveryindex.org/

Diversity, Inclusion, and better equality

The Black Lives Matter movement emerged in the summer of 2020, bringing to light the persistent issues of racial injustice and various forms of inequality. Since that pivotal summer, we at Golde Contractors have committed to enhancing our diversity and inclusion efforts by actively engaging with our Aboriginal communities and ensuring that we are open to all.

Recently, we have been reviewing our policies and recruitment procedures to guarantee that we reach all communities, providing a fair pathway to employment with Golde Contractors, while also upholding supply chain ethics.

We acknowledge that we may not have all the solutions at this moment and might not be doing everything perfectly, but we are fully prepared to listen to feedback and guidance from those who do.

At Golde Contractors, we understand the importance of being valued from outside the company; it is essential for fostering a culture rooted in sustainability in governance. We plan to hire consultants to engage with our entire staff, exploring what more can be accomplished to enhance our initiatives.
